Most Frequently Asked Questions

The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions. So, I wanted to compiles a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!

Do you share my images?

I WILL NEVER SHARE YOUR IMAGES WITHOUT YOUR WRITTEN PERMISSION. I don’t take the responsibilities of my job lightly. I know how vulnerable you are having to be with me and I would never jeopardize that trust.

Our number 1 priority is making sure our clients are comfortable, especially with boudoir! It can be a life changing experience, but that also makes it nerve wracking! Sometimes, you are learning how to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world, or sometimes these photos are specifically for you or your spouse and they aren’t for anyone else’s eyes. These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos, and it all depends on your personal preferences!

Do I have to wear lingerie?

You definitely don’t have to specifically wear lingerie, it depends on your personality! There are a BUNCH of outfit ideas other than lacy little things! Reach out and we can talk other options.

Do you have payment plans?

We offer a few payment options! There is a session fee to book your shoot, and the balance is due 2 weeks before the date of your shoot! If you want more time to be able to pay off the shoot, you can schedule it a few months out and pay it off in payments. Let me know if this is something you want to setup.

Is hair and makeup included?

Hair and makeup are included in all of our boudoir shoots! I think its really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that! Our amazing team can help you complete your look, whether that’s “I just woke up like this” or full on glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup, and we can try to use it for inspiration!

Do you Photoshop my images?

I do edit your images for light, exposure, and color balance. I do NOT however edit anything “out” that is permanent! I think it can be damaging to have a boudoir session done, and then edit out parts of yourself that make you who you are! Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping out parts of yourself you don’t like. If there are parts of yourself that you are learning to love and aren’t thrilled about, that is ok! We are skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best ad brings out your shine!

Where should I buy outfits?

There are a few places to buy outfits from and it depends on what you are looking for and the style of your shoot! Here is a short list to choose from with different styles and sizing! Victoria Secret, Forever21, Adoreme.com, Torrid, Aerie, and Thistle & Spire. When you book with me I also send over a guide that includes lots of wardrobe places I like to shop at, as well as things to avoid when coming in for your session.

One of my favorite things that I have created is a Client Wardrobe! I have over 300+ outfits for clients to choose from for their shoot (probably closer to 500 because I just can’t stop adding but I don’t take the time to count them all). I have all different sizes, colors, and styles.

What type of print products do you have?

I have all types of different products. Our bestselling item is definitely one of our albums. I think 99% of my clients end up with one. And I think it’s because they’re pretty versatile. Plus they’re extremely customizable which is a fun experience in itself.

We also offer folio boxes which come in either a beautiful black box or a luxury glass box with prints in them! I LOVE the glass folio box with 8x10 matted prints. I absolutely love the feel of picking up a physical print, it’s so surreal to see yourself like that!

We also offer metal prints, polaroids, and view finders. Every now and again I offer a special launch with a limited edition product which is really fun.

Do you offer digitals?

All of our packages include some sort of print product, but there is also an A La Carte list that you can choose from as well! On this list we have an option to add on digital images. These digital images come in a locked online gallery for you to download and share.

I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?

Nerves are a part of the experience! I don’t think I’ve ever had a client walk into my studio fully confident and comfortable with that they’re doing. The nervousness at the beginning of your shoot makes the moment when you see your photos for the first time on the back of my camera THAT much better! After that the nerves tend to subside and you start to relax and really enjoy yourself.

How many outfits should I bring?

This depends on your package. We have different levels including 1-2 outfits, 2-3 outfits and 3-4 outfits. But I will say that typically, most clients go for a 3-4 outfit package. I always say to bring more if you can’t decide, and I will help you decide at your shoot.

Should I get to my shoot early?

We just ask that you arrive on time we have set for your shoot. Just make sure to plan enough time to find our studio if you’ve never been there before. Plus, if you booked your session during Minnesota’s construction season then I would plan to give yourself a few extra minutes. I have spent years perfecting my process and I have accounted for the time needed to talk outfits, try on Client Wardrobe pieces, and get your hair & makeup done.

Where is your studio located?

We are located in downtown Saint Paul in an old warehouse building. We love the artistic feel inside the building! So many different kinds of artists around and so much history! Pretty magical.
